For this ride I packed up the bike and drove half an hour away for this loop.
Most of my rides are on busted up streets, stoplights and all. Just have to be cautious and be very situationally aware. Best to plan routes with good shoulders, lighter traffic and avoid driving into the sun where car visibility also affected. I also have two flashing reds on the bike and one on my back and bright/loud reflective arm sleeves for more visibility.
