Mozilla tried to run a mastodon instance but discovered that it’s both hard to do well and doesn’t make any money.
I’m not convinced that AI will save Mozilla either.
Mozilla has decided to shut down their #Mastodon instance, after laying off the majority of the project's team earlier this year. The company is instead focusing on AI for the foreseeable future. #Fediverse
