The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe has a hidden message for future generations like ours.
As you enter the memorial, it's easy to navigate. You can still see and talk to other people above the obstacles. No need for alarm.
But as you descend deeper into the sloped pathways between them, they grow more and more imposing until you suddenly find yourself lost and alone in dark corridors.
And even though everyone walking those paths share the same plight, they can no longer see or hear each other. So most people find themselves standing still at a crossroads, hoping for a friendly face to find them. But all their friends are standing still too.
So they are driven into paranoia and confusion, leading to apathy - the ultimate totalitarian victory.
The message: don't lose sight of each other and never give up finding each other again!
