I remembered seeing this early in my nuclear training as an example of the mad thinking going on in the late fifties and early sixties. I'd misremembered it being a closed-circuit (i.e. Rankine cycle) using helium as coolant, based on a Rolls-Royce design, but it's actually open-circuit (Brayton cycle) like a regular jet engine, which is a terrible idea.
