Potential Tropical Cyclone 8 has made landfall in South Carolina with flooding also impacting North Carolina.
I like that tropical storm warnings were issued without this system becoming a "true" tropical storm. This conveys impacts and risk without being overly pedantic about the science.
We need to improve with how we warn on Pacific Northwest windstorms and Nor'easters. I think the new system for PTCs is a good starting point for this.
