that sounds handy but i set up pretty much everything as ext4 when i installed the system
thankfully it seems the issue was only caused by a force shutdown i did right after first boot (because of a broken kernel back then) and fsck took care of it

i have nothing but the worst contempt for people who draw and share that kind of stuff
it's a shame because the artist was clearly talented and could make decent art if they weren't a freak (i got baited by the thumbnail which was normal and really well made)

i don't have a lot of experience with that, it seems like a cool thing but it still feels uncommon for gui to be interoperable or for graphical windows to communicate with each other.
i've noticed that often gui programs change how they process input or stop responding to outside input altogether once the main window has been launched. maybe i'd attribute that to bad development though.
meanwhile with cli scriptability is the default and expected behavior. in gui it's still very lacking.

i feel like on the other hand, having gui for the sake of having gui is kinda terrible and you'll end up with software that you have to set up over again every single time you change a system (since the config is graphical) or with rigid mess made to comfort people who never saw a command line (looking at you, cmake) or perhaps software that just takes longer to use since you have to go clicky-click with the mouse (like yt-dlp-gui which isn't bad since it's just a wrapper but it would be bad if it was the default option)
graphical programs also always sit at the end of the "chain" since you can't reuse the output but of course they can be good, using a web/image browser or a full video editor in the terminal would probably suck. some things make sense as graphical programs, some just don't
i still like the quote about how there's no "old" or "modern" ways of programming, just the "right" or "wrong" ones :blobcat3c:
