It's not just you. I barely see any, ever. Somebody mentioned 90% spam in replies and I had no idea it was that bad. It's only really a couple of big relays now that are letting it through.

I made that same noise when I caught ours spraying water into the electric space heater. He's generally not stupid, but he apparently really enjoyed the sizzle sounds.

It does work pretty well. There were some compromises a few years ago, but I think it's solid now. I'm in the process of getting it fully self-hosted.

If it's permanent, get a big one with low-loss cable. For walking around, I use the Rokland 2.5 dBi 8" antennas. They're tuned really well and the range is probably as good as it's going to get. They're thin and light, so they don't strain that SMA connector. In the end, though, altitude trumps antenna every time.

I sometimes pull large photos from my DSLRs into #GrapheneOS and they'll have plenty of metadata attached. Fossify Gallery has options for resizing and stripping EXIF built right in.

It's pretty robust. It has some weight to it for sure. The T-Echo is lighter and has a much smaller battery. I don't think either is really pocket-friendly. The WisMesh is easier to rig up to a bag or strap. It's more walkie-talkie shaped.

They got me interested with their 12V DC UPS. It actually makes sense and it's cheap.
A UPS doing 120V > 12V > 120V > 12V is peak tard. I want a DC bypass on every device now.
